Woodstock Parks & Recreation is happy to announce Bacon & Banjos, a delicious and melodic foodie/music festival at the Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater (NHCA), scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Presented by Southern Air Pros, Bacon & Banjos is a convergence of the salty goodness of bacon and the downhome sounds of bluegrass music with a portion of the funds benefitting the Woodstock Public Safety Foundation.
“We are in our second year and couldn’t be happier with this festival,” said Preston Pooser, Director of Woodstock Parks and Recreation. “Awesome bluegrass music all day. And bacon? It’s a win-win”
Bluegrass music, focusing on the music of North Georgia, will be on the main stage all day. Scheduled to appear are local bluegrass favorites Cedar Hill, Dixie Jubilee, The Wiseman Brothers and Honeywood with Iron Horse out of Killen, Alabama and Songs from the Road Band of Ashville, North Carolina rounding out the bill. Throughout the NHCA will be a bacon food festival with restaurants and vendors selling their best bacon creations and, in turn, being judged for Bacon & Banjos accolades. More delicious food than your stomach can handle!
“It’s a fun day for everyone,” said NCHA Operations Manager Jamey Snyder. “So much to see, hear and eat!”
In addition, the festival will include a craftsman alley with rustic creations for sale.
Sponsorships, food and craftsman vendor spots are available through April 18, 2019.
