Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The multi-purpose trail connection was built in
conjunction with Cherokee County. The Cherokee County Commission, in December2016,
approved a $2.86 million contract with Integrated Construction
& Nobility, Inc. to construct the project.  The concrete path runsfrom Woofstock Park to Towne Lake Hills South. It will connect Towne Lake
residents to the Noonday Creek Trail; which runs from Market Street in downtownWoodstock to Highway 92.

Woodstock Parks and Recreation Director, Preston Pooser
says “This trail is a vital connection for the City of Woodstock’s GreenprintsTrail System.  The new trail runs northwest from the dog park, under I-575
and through the wooded area near Woodstock Middle and High schools until itreaches Towne Lake Hills South. The project also includes concrete sidewalks
along Towne Lake Hills Drive South from the trailhead to Woodstock High Schooland Towne Lake Hills South Drive to Towne Lake Parkway”.

The project was funded using Woodstock's portion of the
county's 2008 parks bond proceeds. In 2016, The City of Woodstock and CherokeeCounty Board of Commissioners approved a joint resolution dedicating the trail
to former Woodstock City Council member
Tessa Basford whopassed away in 2014.
